On September 9, 2020, along with the rhythm of national anthem, the 2020 Tsinghua PBCSF Welcome Ceremony was started. The Ceremony was joined by the faculty and students both at the venue and online. Gu Liangfei, Senior Associate Dean of Tsinghua PBCSF, presided over the ceremony.

Zhang Xiaohui, Dean of Tsinghua PBCSF, made the opening speech. She extended her warm welcome and high expectations to the new students. She hoped that, when entering the school, despite all the other titles, students would see knowledge and thoughts as their only label and feature. The time is constantly bringing tests and challenges, and we are the students who are answering them. Financial education and scientific research should actively respond to the challenges brought by the time and explore ways to solve the problems. In the face of the world's unprecedented changes, students of Tsinghua PBCSF, standing at the historical intersection of “the two centenary goals", should never give up and shrink back nor stop. All the students will dare to be the vanguard of the time, making innovation the driving force of the youth voyage, she said.

Wang Xin, Director of the Research Bureau of the People's Bank of China and 1994 alumni, said in his speech that students in Tsinghua PBCSF should firmly grasp the basic scientific research methods of problem orientation, critical thinking, empirical research, and attentions to the influence of political and social factors on economic and financial development.

Liao Li, Executive Associate Dean of Tsinghua PBCSF presented a comprehensive report on school’s work of development, team building, talent cultivation, scientific research, academic platform building, international development, alumni work and Tongzhou Campus construction.

The development of PBC School of finance receives strong and consistent support from alumni, society and industry. At the ceremony, the Launching of the Research Center for Realty Finance, and Research Center for Finance Security were also celebrated.

At last, all the participating faculty and students, at the venue and online, sang the anthem of Tsinghua University all together. “
