The National Institute of Financial Research, Tsinghua University was jointly established by Tsinghua University, the People’s Bank of China, and relevant national financial regulatory authorities, with the aim of developing a leading think tank in finance. It is dedicated to producing high-quality policy research with transformative impact on China’s financial reform, perfecting modern financial infrastructure, improving financial industry regulation, promoting financial product innovation, and maintaining the stability of the financial system. 

The Institute is based at Tsinghua PBCSF, and is jointly developed with the School of Economics and Management and the School of Social Sciences of Tsinghua University.
