On October 12th, Tsinghua PBCSF held an academic salon with the theme of “Asset and Wealth Management”.
Xiao Zhigang, School alumnus and General Manager of Tianhong Asset Management Investment Research Department, attended the salon. He introduced the fund industry to the students present and shared his investment concept.
Xiao elaborated the concept of mutual fund and its role. He then analyzed why Yu’ebao was a most sought-after product last year from the perspective of the functions of money.
He also talked in details about his investing experience and the logic behind it. He pointed out that profits could only be made from stock price difference since most listed companies in China do not have dividend policies. To make profits, he pays close attention to growth stocks, cyclical stocks and concept stocks.
Xiao also recommended three books on investment: The Soros Lectures: At the Central European University, Value Investing: Tools and Techniques for Intelligent Investment, and From Asian to Global Financial Crisis.
