Tsinghua PBCSF Student, XU Kun, Essay Honored in The Economist Essay Competition

Recently, the essay of XU Kun, one of the PBC School of Finance's noted students, was selected as one of the ten exceptional essays awarded by The Economist in a student essay writing competition held concurrently with the publication's annual "China Summit".

At The Economist annual "China Summit", the Vice Foreign Minister FU Ying,the United States Ambassador to China, Gary Locke, together with more than 200 international business leaders, government officialsscholars, were in attendance, discussing future Chinese economic trends. At the same time, the sponsor hosted an essay competition among Chineseoverseas students, inviting them toin the discussion regarding the topic "China's economy will overtake America's within a decade?" Xu stood out with his "China overtakes US in a decade: No willing, no strength,no needs".

XU Kun is a postgraduate student attending our institution, a member of the class of 2011. He has successively been awarded the National Government Scholarshipthe Liu Hongru Scholarship by the school.
