On July 12th, the school launched the Summer Camp 2012 for Prospective Doctoral Students, which has attracted 41 outstanding undergraduate students from 20 universities including Tsinghua, Peking University, University of International BusinessEconomics, Wuhan University, Nankai University,others. The opening ceremony was attended by Dean WU Xiaoling, Executive Associate Dean LIAO Li, Senior Associate Dean NIE Fenghua, Associate Dean ZHAO Cen, General Manager of China Life Asset Management Investment Policy Research Center, Ph.D. supervisor Prof. QIAN Xiaoan,Associate Dean KANG Yitong, who presided over the event.

In the ceremony, the Dean delivered a keynote speech titled 'Challenges of Financial Research', in which she analyzed the root causes of the ongoing international financial crisisstressed the importance of finance regulationcoordination of global policies. She also encouraged the students to be visionaryhave the courage to face up to the challenges of financial reform in China.

The camp, held from July 12th to 14th, is aimed at enhancing students' understanding of finance,also serves as a preliminary step for students entering the Ph.D. Program. This camp is an important opportunity for attendees to communicate with school supervisors, alumni,famous scholars. After passing comprehensive interviewsexaminations, the students are admitted to the program directly without taking the national entrance exam.
