Jiao Jie, Dean of Tsinghua University PBC School of Finance, was recently invited to lead a delegation to the Eurasia Forum 2024 held in Budapest, Hungary. The theme of the forum was "Talent, Knowledge, Technology, and Capital". Over 200 government officials, scholars, and experts from Europe and Asia, including Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Governor of the Magyar Nemzeti Bank (MNB) György H. Matolcsy, participated in the event.
During the education panel titled "The Talent Imperative: Bridging Knowledge, Technology and Entrepreneurship", Jiao Jie engaged in a dialogue with András Balatoni, Director of the Economic Forecasting and Analysis Department of the MNB, discussing topics such as financial talent cultivation, technological innovation, and synergistic development under the Belt and Road Initiative.
Jiao Jie congratulated the MNB on its centenary and introduced the educational, research, and talent cultivation system of Tsinghua University PBC School of Finance, highlighting the school's commitment to building a high-level international faculty, strengthening industry-relevant research institutions, and applying research outcomes. The school has established a comprehensive senior financial talent cultivation system, including Ph.D. in Finance, Master of Finance, Master of Sci-Tech and Finance, Dual-Degree MBA, EMBA and Executive Education programs, supporting China's innovation-driven development strategy and economic and social progress.
Jiao Jie also discussed the school's specific measures emphasizing interdisciplinary academic research, comprehensive student development, and the strengthening of institutional research centers in areas such as technology finance, green finance, inclusive finance, retirement finance, and digital finance.
In terms of serving the Belt and Road Initiative, Jiao Jie mentioned the school's active construction of international talent cultivation programs, strategic partnerships, and the promotion of international exchanges and cooperation with top universities and international organizations.
The Budapest Eurasia Forum, hosted by the MNB, aims to promote economic, cultural, and educational exchanges between Eurasia. It has become one of the most influential international high-end communication platforms globally and within the region.
During the forum, Jiao Jie represented the school in signing a memorandum of cooperation with the MNB, Budapest Metropolitan University, and John Von Neumann University, deepening cooperation between Tsinghua University and Hungarian partners and providing new platforms and opportunities for cooperation in the field of financial education.
The signing ceremony was attended by representatives from both Hungarian and Chinese institutions, marking a significant step in fostering international cooperation in financial and technological talent cultivation, contributing to the Belt and Road Initiative.
