From February 23 to 28, 2025, a delegation from Tsinghua University PBC School of Finance, led by Dean Jiao Jie and Associate Dean Zhang Xiaoyan, visited Riyadh in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. They engaged in extensive exchanges with local financial institutions, government departments, and universities to explore cooperation opportunities and promote regional financial cooperation and development.
In Riyadh, the delegation met with Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Suwaiyel, former Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Saudi Arabia, and representatives from the School of Business at King Saud University. They had in-depth discussions on Sino-Saudi relations, the economic characteristics of the Middle East, joint financial training programs, faculty, and project cooperation, and explored the possibility of signing a framework MoU.

PBCSF and the School of Business at King Saud University exchanged gifts.
Subsequently, the delegation traveled to Abu Dhabi, where they held talks with the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) and Mubadala Investment Company. Both sides exchanged views on cooperation intentions such as mutual visits, joint research, and student internships.

In Dubai, the delegation met with the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD) to discuss cooperation in jointly hosting academic conferences, policy research, and student employment.

During the visit, the Tsinghua PBCSF delegation established extensive contacts with important institutions in the Middle East and had in-depth exchanges on financial innovation, talent cultivation, joint research, and cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. The visit laid a solid foundation for future cooperation and provided new ideas and directions for promoting regional financial cooperation and development. In the future, the school will continue to strengthen communication with the Middle East and further deepen cooperation in the financial field.
