About the speaker:

Hoan Soo Lee is an Assistant Professor of Finance in the School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University. He received his A.M. and Ph.D. in Business Economics jointly from Harvard Department of Economics and Harvard Business School in 2011 and 2013, respectively; and A.B. in Applied Mathematics and Economics with Highest Honors in each from University of California at Berkeley in 2008. His research interests focus on corporate finance, venture capital and private equity, entrepreneurial finance and contract theory.

Professor Lee was the former staff economist in innovation and entrepreneurship policy at the Council of Economic Advisers in the White House during the Obama administration’s first term of office. He is also a serial entrepreneur and adviser of several startups (US venture capital backed): co-founder/COO of Give2gether, Inc. in Boston, MA; adviser of Dorinku, Inc. in London, UK; adviser of Microfinance Initiative, Harvard College Chapter in Cambridge, MA.
