Li An

PERSONAL  PROFILE

Yue Yuan is an Assistant Professor at PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University. Yue received her Ph.D. in Finance from London School of Economics in 2021. Prior to that, she received an M.S. in Finance and Economics from London School of Economics and a B.A. in Finance from Tianjin University.

Yue’s research focuses on Corporate Finance and Microeconomic Theory. In particular, she is interested in implications of information and market structure. Her research has been awarded the Finance Theory Group (FTG) Best Theory Paper on the Academic Job Market in Finance (First Prize) and the Western Finance Association (WFA) PhD Candidate Award for Outstanding Research.

Security Design under Common-Value Competition 

When investors with private information compete for a common-value investment opportunity, they offer information-insensitive securities due to concerns about the winner’s curse. 

Share Issues versus Share Repurchases, with Philip Bond and Hongda Zhong 

In a unified framework of firms’ share issues and repurchases with symmetric assumptions, firms’ asymmetric choices of issue and repurchase speeds emerge as a natural result of an informational friction. 

Security Design under Two-Sided Asymmetric Information 

When a seller designs a security-bid auction with both the seller and bidders having some private information, the seller requires payments in the most information-sensitive security family.
