PERSONAL PROFILE
Jinliang Li is a Chair Professor and Chair of the School Council at the PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University. An entrepreneurial academic, he served as Dean of Global Engagement for nine years, playing a pivotal role in shaping and implementing the University’s global strategy and strengthening its international reputation.
He also holds a joint appointment at the School of Economics and Management, where he previously served a term as Associate Dean. He founded the Institute for Industrial Innovation and Finance—an interdisciplinary platform dedicated to advancing research and practice in industrial innovation for sustainable development in China.
He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2003 and has served on the CFA Institute’s Standards of Practice Council and the editorial board of the Financial Analysts Journal. He was the J.G. Riesman Research Professor at Northeastern University in Boston and a visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. He has also provided consultancy to the central bank, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), China Construction Bank, and State Street Bank in Boston.
His academic accomplishments have been recognized with awards from the State and the Municipality of Beijing. He received his Ph.D. in Finance from Syracuse University in 2001 and his bachelor’s degree from Tsinghua University in 1997.
