On September 8, the new semester starts at Tsinghua PBCSF. A ceremony was held on campus and online, where leaders of the School and faculty members welcomed the 2021 students of Ph.D. in Finance, Master of Finance, Master of Sci-Tech and Finance, Cornell-Tsinghua Dual Degree Finance MBA, Finance EMB, Global Finance GSFD and Executive Education.

Zhang Xiaohui, dean of Tsinghua PBCSF, delivered an opening speech. She extended her warm welcome to the new students and expressed her high expectations. She wished the students to be free from anxieties, doubts and fear, and hoped the students would cherish the time, and let reading become a way of life. Moreover, she hoped students to unify the knowledge and action and achieve a better self.

Wang Xin, director of the Research Bureau of the People's Bank of China and 1994 alumni, encouraged the students to be far-sighted and poised, to care for the world and take practical actions, and to study diligently, think profoundly and seek humanistic pragmatism.

Liao Li, Executive Associate Dean of Tsinghua PBCSF presented a comprehensive report on school development, talent cultivation, scientific research, academic platform building, international communications, and strategic cooperation.

The School continuously receives strong support from society, alumni and industry. The Ceremony witnessed the launch of the Research Center for Fund of Funds and the Education Contribution Award was presented at the ceremony.
