Themed on “New Pattern, New Development, New Finance”, the 2021 Tsinghua PBCSF Global Finance Forum is held in Beijing on May 22 and 23. Distinguished guests from the government, industry and academia are invited to deliberate on the current and future of China and world’s economy and finance under the pandemic, from perspectives of “China and the World”, “Reform and Policies”, and “Academics and Practices”. The forum is held on-site and broadcast live stream through official media Tsinghua PBCSF Online, and co-operate medias in English and Chinese.

At the Forum, Qiu Yong, president of Tsinghua University and member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Zhang Xiaohui, dean of Tsinghua University PBC School of Finance delivered opening speeches.

The Opening Ceremony is hosted by LIAO Li, Chair Professor and Executive Associate Dean, Tsinghua PBCSF, and Chair of Tsinghua University Institute for Fintech Research (THUIFR).

In Plenary Session I, distinguished guests of ZHOU Xiaochuan, President of China Society for Finance and Banking, and Honorary Dean at Tsinghua PBCSF; LI Bo, Vice President of People's Bank Of China; XIAO Yuanqi, Vice Chairman of China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission (CBIRC); LIU Lian’ge, Chairman of Bank of China (BOC); and Michael SPENCE, Nobel Laureate in Economics 2001 joined and delivered keynote speeches on “The New Dual Circulation Development Pattern and Financial Reform and Opening-up”.

During the two-day Forum, ten sessions will be held and in-depth discussions will be held on: “The New Dual Circulation Development Pattern and Financial Reform and Opening-up”, “Global Economic Governance under the Changing World”, “Building the New Order of Financial Supervision”, “Digital Economics Boosting Global Economic Recovery”, “Development Prospects of  Infrastructure REITs”, “Science and Technology Promoting High-Quality Development of Finance Innovation”, “Report Release China Financial Policy Report 2021”, “Capital Market Motivating Technology Innovation”, “Finance-Driven High-Quality Development of Culture and Tourism Industry”, and “The New Normal of Global Tech-Driven Insurance and Pension Industry”.

Tsinghua PBCSF Global Finance Forum in its 7th year, is attracting wide attentions at home and abroad. The form is hosted by Tsinghua University, co-organized by PBC School of Finance and Institute for National Governance and Global Governance at Tsinghua University, and supported by Tsinghua University National Institute of Financial Research (NIFR) and Tsinghua University Institute for Fintech Research (THUIFR).
