49 international students were accepted for the third Tsinghua PBCSF Financial Leaders of Tomorrow Summer Program, held June 28 to July 10, 2015.
Students are from universities in over 11 countries and regions, such as the University of Cambridge, Colombia University, University of Pennsylvania, Cornell University, Carnegie Mellon University, University Mannheim, Queen’s University and some exchange partners of Tsinghua PBCSF.
The two-week program had professors from Tsinghua University and industry elites with extensive experience at top financial entities lecture on topics of China’s financial markets, covering banking, securities, insurance, funds, and other sectors, Chinese society and politics, as well as intercultural communication, in order to help the students gain a comprehensive and deep understanding of Chinese financial system and culture. “The program offers me a great opportunity to get to know Chinese financial markets,” said Vladimir Georgiev from Pennsylvania State University, “and it is a wonderful experience for me.”
In addition, the program offered study trips to high-tech company Xiaomi and online P2P start-up Daokoudai.com to help students learn about newest development in the corporates. A variety of culture activities, including sightseeing tours, museum visits, and dumpling feast, were organized. Students with different cultural backgrounds enjoyed local food and traditional culture.
The Financial Leaders of Tomorrow Summer Program is a two week international program hosted by the PBC School of Finance at Tsinghua University. First started in the year 2013, the program have attracted close to 150 students majored in finance, economics, management, and other related subjects.
