On July 24th, the 4th “PBCSF Analysis Seminar”was held at the Tsinghua University PBC School of Finance. Organized by the TSINGHUA Financial Review Editorial Office, this closed-door seminar was themed“Development of Securitization of Credit Assets ”.

The 3-hour seminar focused on analyzing and predicting the future development of domestic credit asset securitization by reviewing its history and discussing its similarities and differences to overseas markets.

The Seminar came to the conclusion that securitization of credit assets can be useful to commercial banks in the following ways: first, it can help alleviate the capital pressure on banks when the Third Basel Accord is implemented; second, it can help transfer banking risks and maintain systematic stability; and third, it can help improve liquidity.

But its development has gone through ups and downs domestically. The attendees also discussed in details issues relating to regulation, SPV, target customers and liquidity.

The Seminar was attended by Managing Director of Shanghai Alliance Financial Services Co., Ltd Qunjie Guo, Investment Director of Chang’an Trust Yan Jiang, PhD of Renmin University Xinsheng Zeng, and some subscribers of the Review. Wei Zhang, head of the Editorial Office, chaired the Seminar.
