Tsinghua University China Entrepreneurs Training Camp Visits Silicon Valley

Twenty start-up founders of the China Entrepreneurs Training Camp visited the States on July, 13th, 2013. It is hoped that the trip to Silicon Valley will help start-up founders better understand the status quotrend of international cutting-edge fields,open the entrepreneurial dialogue between Chinathe United States.

The visit was part of the “Tsinghua University China Entrepreneurs Training Camp Trip to Silicon Valley”, a seven-day program hosted by Tsinghua University PBCSFsponsored by WestSummit CapitalInonospring. The program includes visits to Stanford University, UC Berkeley, world giants such as Intel, Google, Apple, Facebookstart-ups such as Tesla, Lending Club, as well as opportunities to network with investors.

The Program was launched in Stanford University under the theme of “The Beginning of Innovation”. Professor Edison Tse from Stanford University, Associate Dean of Tsinghua University PBCSFSecretary-General of Tsinghua University China Entrepreneurs Training Camp ZHAO Cen, Co-founder of WestSummit Capital Raymond Yang,Research Director of Tsinghua University PBCSF E-Finance Lab ZHOU Xinwang gave keynote speeches.

In Professor Tse’s speech titled “Innovation Is about Creating Value”, he talked about his 38-year teaching experience in Stanfordpointed out that the role of Stanford in the development of Silicon Valley is an incubator of scientific research. Stanford boasts a research-friendly environment in which the university can apply for patent on behalf of the researchersresearchers have more discretion in the use of patents.

Zhao then introduced Tsinghua University’s PBC School of FinanceTsinghua University China Entrepreneurs Training Camp. Raymond shared with the audience the recipe for success of Silicon Valley, its ecosystem, opennessphilosophy. Zhou outlined the status quo of China’s capital marketfinancing system for start-ups.

Created in 2010, Tsinghua University China Entrepreneur Training Camp continues to inspire its attendees to become China’s leading entrepreneursperfect China’s investmentfinancing environment.

This is accomplished by exposing the start-up founders to the knowhow in management, financinginvestment,helping them network with potential investors.

The Camp has hosted nine events in Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghaigraduated 4,000-plus attendees with some receiving start-up funding. Named as “the most influential entrepreneur education platform”, it has won recognition of IDG Capital Partners, Shenzhen Capital Group, Co., Northern Light Venture CapitalWestSummit Capital. Program mentors include XIONG Xiaoge, DENG Feng, LEI JunRaymond Yang.
