ZHOU Hao, Former Federal Reserve Senior Economist, joins as a faculty member

On Feb. 26th, ZHOU Hao, former U.S. Federal Reserve Senior Economist, delivered a course on Empirical Finance to master’s students. The course was aimed at helping students develop their understanding of primary financial markets (stock, bond, foreign exchange, options, etc.), gain familiarity with important empirical research issues such as financial market risk premiums,master key techniquesmethods of empirical study on asset pricing.

During the course, ZHOU Hao expounded upon both ChineseWestern teaching advantages,integrated theory with practice by focusing on discussiontimely feedback after class. His solid integrated academic knowledgeflexible teaching methods won consistent high praise from students.


ZHOU Hao graduated from Duke University with a Doctorate in Economics in 2000. The same year, he began his service as an economist in the risk management department of the Federal Reserve. He was then promoted to Senior Economist,he was responsible for monitoringregulating the impact of systemic risk management modelscredit risk in important capital finance institutionsoffering proposals to the Federal Reserve Board. In Feb. of 2013, ZHOU Hao joined PBC School of Finance, Tsinghua University as a member of the faculty.
