To enhance financial practices and broaden global vision, 20 Tsinghua PBCSF students joined "International Week on Central Banking" at the University of Applied Sciences of the Deutsche Bundesbank, Hachenburg, Germany.
The one-week academic exchange consists of theoretical teaching, group presentation/case study, problem solving practices, as well as culture immersion visits and communication events. The lecture and discussions covered various topics including the European Central Bank system, financial innovation, and cryptocurrency regulation. PBCSF students, together with economic and financial institutions from Poland, and Slovakia, engaged in academic exchanges and practical activities. PBCSF students actively participated in and organized discussions, and vividly introduced financial innovation cases in China.
Students also paid special visits to the Deutsche Bundesbank (German Central Bank), the German Central Bank currency museum, and cultural sites, which allowed them to gain a close understanding of German culture and on the development of monetary system in Europe and Germany. To enrich the experience, students were warmly invited by Student Association at University of Applied Sciences of Deutsche Bundesbank for series of student activities.

On April 17th, professor Erich Keller, the rector of University of Applied Sciences of Deutsche Bundesbank hosted the opening ceremony and delivered a welcome speech. Representatives from PBC School of Finance, Warsaw School of Economics, and University of Economics in Slovakia presented speeches and made brief introductions of their schools, respectively.

Joachim Nagel, the President of the Deutsche Bundesbank and member of the European Central Bank Management Committee, joined the festive dinner with the faculties and students at the program, on the evening of April 20th. He warmly welcomed and encouraged students to contribute to the international and regional cooperation. Erich Keller and representative from the Deutsche Bundesbank awarded program certificates to students, and praised PBCSF students for their unique China’s perspective and profound financial insights at the seminar.

During the one-week program, PBCSF students established deep friendship with fellow students, and enhanced their global vision through learning, exchanges and visits.
The "Central Bank International Week" exchange program is an important part of the long-term cooperation between PBCSF and the University of Applied Sciences of the Deutsche Bundesbank, and in PBCSF’s global education.
PBCSF is constantly exploring and has gradually established a diversified and multi-dimensional global education module for students, through various means including doctoral joint training, winter and summer short-term programs, international exchanges and overseas internships. Students at PBCSF are able to expand their international perspectives, enhance their capability and academic excellence, and develop into responsible, comprehensive and innovative international financial talents.
