As digital technology is driving profound changes in international money and finance, the Monetary and Capital Markets Department of the International Monetary Fund, and the Research Center for International Digital Capital of Tsinghua PBC School of Finance (PBCSF) will jointly organize the “2020 IMF- Tsinghua PBCSF Conference on International Digital Capital”.

 

The conference will be held at Tsinghua PBCSF from January 11th to 12th, 2020, including the Academic Conferences and the Policy Forum. This conference aims at collecting the latest academic and policy research on digitization of international money and finance, gathering the outstanding scholars and well-known policy experts around the world, and building a comprehensive international platform for sharing and dissemination of knowledge.

TOPICS

We welcome high quality academic papers in all areas regarding digitization of international money and finance. The topics include but not limited to, digital currencies and cross-border payments, tokenization of securities, implications of digitalization for exchange rates and capital flows management, regulation of digital trade in financial services, reshaping of the international monetary system by digital technologies, digital identities and credit ratings for cross-border transactions, valuation of digital currencies, challenges to traditional monetary policy by digital technologies, financial stability implications and regulatory policies for digital currencies, etc.

 

Papers in both English and Chinese will be considered.

PAPER SUBMISSION

The deadline for submission is November 8th, 2019. Notification of acceptance will be sent by November 18th, 2019. Each accepted paper will be discussed by a discussant.

 

For each accepted paper, the conference organizer will cover up to 3 nights of hotel accommodation for one author and the discussant.
