Research Center for Wealth Management was established in September 2023. Relying on the rich academic resources and disciplinary advantages of Tsinghua University PBC School of Finance, it is committed to cutting-edge research, talent training and practical innovation in the field of wealth management. With the purpose of “academic leadership, practice-driven, and serving society”, the center focuses on theoretical and practical issues in the wealth management industry, aim to build an authoritative think tank in China's wealth management field, and promotes high-quality development of the industry.

The research areas of the center cover asset allocation, investment strategy, risk management, green finance and ESG, fintech applications. It aims to promote the deep integration of wealth management theory and practice through in-depth cross-disciplinary and cross-field research. The center cooperates with domestic and foreign financial institutions, regulatory agency, industry organizations and international institutions, provides forward-looking research and practical guidance for the industry, so as to help the transformation, upgrading and sustainable development of the wealth management industry.

The center holds high-level academic forums, industry seminars and special lectures to build a communication platform for academic and industry, promote the collision of ideas and resource sharing. At the same time, the center attaches great importance to talent training, committed to cultivating high-quality leading talents with international vision, innovation ability and practical experience for the financial industry.

In the future, Research Center for Wealth Management will continue to deepen research and expand cooperation, strive to become a domestic leading and world-class wealth management research center, and contribute wisdom and strength to the innovation and development of the wealth management industry.

The director of center is Professor Zhang Xiaoyan who is Associate Dean of PBC School of Finance Tsinghua University, Deputy Director of Tsinghua Fintech Research Institute and Xinyuan Chair Professor of Finance. Professor Zhang is also a member of Academic Committee of the People’ s Bank of China, a senior fellow of the Asian Bureau of Finance and Economic Research (ABFER), and a senior financial expert of the Shanghai Stock Exchange. Professor Zhang served on the CSRC 17th Issuance Examination Committee, and currently serves on the World Economic Forum’ s Global Future Council, China Global Economic Governance 50 Forum, China Wealth Management 50 Forum, and Expert Committee of National Internet Finance Association.
