Abstract:

 In the field of sports, the United States has a dominant position in the world, and their medal records in the Summer Olympics can fully reflect this. Sports is an important part of the national culture of the United States. It can not only bring great benefits to the United States as a big industry, but also play a very important role in the society.The system of governance is the decisive factor that leads to the development of sports. This paper will take the development stage of American sports (the middle of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century)， the development stage (the late 1970s and the late 1970s) and the mature stage (after the 1980 's) as a division to to sort out the evolution of American sports policy, and from the amateur sports, the competitive sports, the primary and analyze the mode of sports governance in the United States from the five main bodies of amateur sports, competitive sports, primary and secondary school sports, college sports and commercial sports.
